Macaroni and cheese with hot dogs

If macaroni and cheese and hot dogs at the top of lists of the favorite foods of children, they will love this macaroni and cheese recipe. It is ideal for picky eaters. Serve with a green salad and apple sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces macaroni (whole wheat agrees)
  • 1c. Olive oil
  • 6 hot dogs, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 onion, cut into small cubes
  • 3 c. Butter
  • 4 c. All-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1c. Horseradish mustard
  • 2:01 c. Kosher salt
  • 2:01 c. freshly ground black pepper
  • 3-1 / 2 cup grated cheddar cheese divided,

Preparation:

  1. Prepare macaroni according to package directions for "al dente". Drain.

  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  3. Olive oil enamel over medium heat in a large heavy saucepan or pot oven cast iron pot.
  4. Add the chopped onion and hot dog. Cook, stirring, until the sausages are browned and onions are soft. Remove hot dogs on a plate. Set aside.

  5. Add the butter in the pan. If butter, stir in flour. Cook for a few minutes until the flour browned.

  6. , Stirring constantly whisk the milk, mustard, horseradish, salt and pepper, and simmer until thickened.

  7. Stir in 3 cups cheese until melted. Remove from heat. Add the macaroni and cheese sauce. Specialized in hot dogs.

  8. Remaining ½ cup cheese sprinkled on top of the mac and cheese. Place mac and cheese in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese melts.
