September layer salad

This seven layer salad is the perfect complement for any party, potluck or party. Looks attractive, tasty, and best of all, you can salad in layers in advance. Feel free to vary the ingredients, but be sure to add a cover glass bowl to use this salad, so you can see the layers.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes

Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded or chopped
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 3/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 10 oz frozen peas, thawed package
  • 1-1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 c. Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Preparation:

  1. Fry the bacon. Drain on paper towels and reserve.

  2. Show salad in a glass bowl height.

  3. Spread onion over lettuce in an even layer.

  4. Cover with layers of celery, bell peppers and frozen peas.

  5. Mix mayonnaise and sugar. Evenly over peas and cherry.

  6. Garnish with grated cheese. Crumble bacon over cheese.

  7. Cover with plastic wrap and. In the refrigerator for 30 minutes or up to 12 hours

  8. Toss the salad just before serving.
